A shared parenting calendar checklist for two homes

Plan handoffs, school dates and schedule changes with a practical shared parenting calendar checklist.

Start with the agreed schedule

Add the recurring parenting schedule from your current agreement before adding one-off events. Record the date, time and location of each handoff. If an agreement is unclear, resolve the question together or with a qualified professional rather than treating a calendar entry as a decision.

Keep school dates visible

Collect school closures, early dismissals and activity dates from the school’s published calendar. Check the school year and timezone. Keep school events separate from parenting assignments: a school closure does not automatically change who has parenting time.

Make changes explicit

For a proposed change, write the original time, requested time, pickup location and response deadline. Wait for approval before making arrangements. Keep the agreed outcome in one shared place so both homes can find it.

Review the next week

Set aside a few minutes each week to check transport, school items and childcare. Share only the details each person needs. In Calm Mere, the School and Everything calendar views help families see school events alongside parenting time; school events do not change overnight assignments.
