Calm Mere Terms of Service

Effective October 28, 2026 · Version 2026-10-28

These Terms govern your use of Calm Mere at www.calmmere.com and its related family-coordination services. Calm Mere is operated by Forest of Knowledge INC, a software company. “Calm Mere,” “we,” and “us” mean Forest of Knowledge INC in these Terms. “You” means the person using it. By checking the agreement box and continuing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not join or use the service.

1. What Calm Mere does

Calm Mere helps families coordinate parenting schedules, exchange times, requests, discussions, documents, medical event updates, childcare requests, and related records. It is not a court, law firm, mediator, medical provider, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice. You remain responsible for complying with court orders, signed agreements, and applicable law.

An approval, signature, schedule change, or export in Calm Mere does not by itself amend a court order or establish that a legal filing requirement has been satisfied. Resolve any conflict with your controlling agreement or order through the appropriate process.

2. Accounts, invitations, and family access

Dating invitations and date planning need only your display name, verified adult account and applicable Terms acceptance. A photo or bio is optional and is not required to invite, propose, accept or cancel a date. Completing an account profile can remain required for separate family and memory-board invitations; it does not expand access.

A partner invitation may include a single-use first sign-in code valid for 10 minutes. The invitation and its sign-in code expire separately. Opening an email link does not verify the code, accept the Terms, create an account or accept the partner connection. You may request a new code while the invitation remains valid. Email ownership, current Terms acceptance and any configured additional sign-in protection remain required.

Provide accurate information and use only an email address you are authorized to use. Do not impersonate another parent or family member. Keep sign-in codes and acceptance links private, and tell the person managing your household if you suspect unauthorized access. A link may expire or be replaced by a newer link.

Family roles and permissions determine what you may see or do. Inviting someone, changing their email address, or granting access is your responsibility when the service permits you to do so. Only invite people you are authorized to involve. A family relationship alone does not authorize access to another person’s account or private records.

We record agreement to these Terms with the verified email address, verification reference, Terms version and URL, and acceptance time. When a new version requires agreement, we may ask you to review and accept it before continuing.

3. Children and parent or guardian responsibilities

An adult who creates or administers a household must be legally able to enter an agreement and have authority to manage the access they grant. A minor may participate only with a parent’s or legal guardian’s authorization and supervision. The responsible adult must review these Terms with the minor, manage permissions, and help the minor use the service safely.

A child’s checkbox or participation is not a substitute for consent from a legally authorized adult. Where children’s privacy law requires separate notice or verifiable parental consent, that process must be completed before collecting the child’s information. Agreement to these Terms does not waive a child’s or parent’s privacy rights and does not itself establish that separate consent has been obtained.

4. Requests, approvals, signatures, and corrections

Review every date, time, timezone, name, and message before submitting or approving it. Requests remain proposals until the required approval or signatures are complete. Where cancellation is available, it withdraws a pending request; it does not erase its history. Discussion comments do not themselves change a schedule or constitute approval.

In-app signatures record the action taken by the signed-in account on the identified version. Their legal effect depends on applicable law and the circumstances. Do not sign for someone else. If a record is wrong, use the correction or new-request process rather than representing an inaccurate record as correct.

Childcare and grandparent time blocks

A grandparent visit request goes to the parent assigned to that date. A parent may also offer a time block on their own assigned date to several eligible grandparents. For that childcare request, the first grandparent to accept is confirmed automatically and the request closes for the others. Check the confirmation and current status before arranging care. A cancellation does not automatically reopen the request. These time blocks do not change overnight assignments, establish custody rights, or verify a caregiver’s qualifications or suitability. Parents remain responsible for choosing caregivers and confirming practical arrangements.

Medical event records

A parent may record an illness, injury, appointment, medication event, or other medical event that has already happened, including care provided and follow-up. Medical records in this feature are accessible only to parents in that household. Enter accurate information you are authorized to share, and include only what is needed for coordination. Either parent can add a follow-up or correction; the original entry remains in the history.

An acknowledgement records that the signed-in parent acknowledged a particular version. It does not establish agreement, medical consent, treatment, or that the information is accurate. A new update requires a new acknowledgement. Calm Mere does not assess symptoms, monitor a child’s health, contact a clinician, or dispatch emergency assistance. For an emergency, contact emergency services directly. Do not wait for an app notification or acknowledgement before seeking necessary care.

Private dating coordination

An optional account photo can be saved separately from a detailed profile or bio. Saving it through the dating-photo controls makes it visible only to your active dating connections through authenticated requests. Existing private photos are not shared automatically. Removing the photo or ending a connection stops future photo access through that grant; copies already received cannot be recalled.

Two adults can connect through a revocable, expiring invitation. The recipient reviews and explicitly accepts or declines. A dating connection does not join a family or grant co-parent permissions. Either adult can disconnect. The confirmation can include an optional message to the other person, or be left blank. Ending an accepted connection creates a private in-app notice for the other adult, including the optional shared message; it remains readable after availability and date access end. Email notices follow individual settings and omit that message. Each person independently chooses whether to share their own available times. Sharing starts off. A separate private opt-in can derive available intervals from the account owner’s parenting calendar. The recipient receives only available windows and is not told the source. Manual windows, including multi-day windows, and hidden blocks remain available. Sharing uses a bounded upcoming window (30 days by default). It does not expose the parenting plan, custody assignments, handoffs, child names, locations or court documents.

Either person may propose an available day without a time, a date range from which the recipient chooses an available day, or an exact date and time. Offered dates must fall within intentionally shared availability and are checked again on acceptance. An untimed day does not reserve the entire day or invent an appointment time. A date is confirmed only after the other adult accepts a specific option or available day. Either adult can also send an open request for the other person to suggest a day, without receiving private calendar access. A confirmed date may be cancelled by either participant using a broad reason category, including “Prefer not to share details”; a shared personal explanation is optional. Cancellation retains the original record. Replacement proposals require their own acceptance, and open-ended requests do not create calendar events. Dating actions do not change parenting assignments.

Private proposal notes are visible only to their author. Cancellation notes and rescheduling prompts labeled as shared are available to both adults. Review those fields before sending. Dating notices omit private notes and family details. Email and reminders require individual opt-in; a follow-up requires both adults’ opt-in and one requester-selected time. There are no repeated chase messages. Dating data is not disclosed to co-parents through this workflow.

You can set daily start and end hours for an available date range, such as 10 AM–8 PM on each selected day. Only those daily windows are offered from that rule. When private parenting-derived availability is enabled, the daily hours narrow those free periods and do not extend them past a parenting boundary. Manual windows and blocked periods remain explicit choices. The daily rule is stored encrypted with your own availability; the other adult receives only the resulting available intervals and applicable length limits.

You may block a specific time or an inclusive date range inside wider availability. Blocked time is excluded from choices offered to the other adult. An available window may also have a maximum date length, such as one or four hours. The limit applies separately to each date selected from that window. Overlapping saved available windows combine and keep the strictest limit. Limits remain in effect when availability comes from more than one source or both adults share times. Timed proposals must fit entirely outside blocked periods and meet every applicable limit. Untimed day or range requests need a proposed length when a limit applies, with enough consecutive available time on an eligible day; the exact start time can still be agreed later. Limits and availability are checked again before acceptance. Existing confirmed history is preserved.

An optional note labeled for the two of you is shared with the other adult on the date request and confirmed date. Existing private proposal notes remain author-only and are never converted into shared notes. Request notes are omitted from notification emails. Comments on a date request are shared only between the two connected adults, including after acceptance, cancellation or rescheduling. Comments do not accept a date or change its status. Discussion access stops when the connection ends; retained records follow the existing retention policy. Comment emails require the recipient’s date-email opt-in and contain only a general update and an authenticated link, never the comment text. Intentional availability updates create private in-app notices for the specific connection and optional email under those same preferences; underlying parenting calendar changes do not send automatic update emails.

Detailed partner profiles beyond the optional photo, ex-partner references or photos, child messaging, partner memory-board sharing and co-parent disclosure are disabled in this release. Legacy automatic 90-day publication and its notices are disabled. Existing stored records are preserved; this release does not automatically publish relationship status or share historical information. Any later child-introduction notice must be a separate, manually initiated process.

Common Ground questionnaire

Common Ground is an optional private questionnaire between the two adults in an active dating connection. Each person independently chooses to participate. It is not required to invite someone, plan a date, or cancel a date. You can answer or skip each of the 18 questions, mark how important an answer is to you, and add an optional note.

Draft answers and notes remain author-only. The other adult can see only general participation and submission status until both people consent and submit. Submission locks your answers. The side-by-side comparison opens only after both submissions; notes appear in that shared comparison only if both adults independently opt to share notes when submitting. The discussion guide is generated by fixed comparison rules, with no compatibility score, diagnosis, or prediction. Questionnaire content is not sent to AI processing in this release.

Sessions expire after 60 days. Either person can withdraw to stop shared access; ending the dating connection also stops access immediately. Withdrawal does not erase the other person's answers or copies already obtained. You can export your own answers and explicitly remove your own answers after withdrawal, unless an unreleased retention hold requires review. Minimal participation and removal audit metadata remains. The questionnaire is separate from co-parent views, family messages, parenting exports, and custody records. We do not notify co-parents or automatically contact prospective companions.

Private memories, life-story boards, and family references

Private memory boards may record meeting dates, stories and memorabilia. They start owner-only. Dating-partner board sharing is disabled in this release; a dating connection does not grant memory access.

Life-story boards begin private. Their owner may select active adult members from the family circle currently selected in the app and invite them as readers or contributors to the whole published board, including future published additions. Family-based sharing is limited to that family unit, with zero degrees outside it; wider family-network sharing is not enabled. Dating-partner sharing is currently disabled. Adults need an active sign-in account. The service resolves the selected member’s account email; arbitrary email invitations are not available. Family membership is rechecked when invitations are sent, accepted, and used for access. Leaving the authorizing family unit removes access under that grant. Membership in another family circle alone does not grant access. Board-only invitations grant no access to the owner’s family circle, parenting records, other boards, messages, calendars, or medical records. A child receives view-only access only when the owner explicitly grants access through the authorized parent-managed account. Reaching a particular age does not release a board automatically.

Adult contributors can submit and edit their own memories. The board owner reviews contributions and revisions before publishing them; until review, a previously published version remains the version shown to readers. The owner controls recipients, publishing, and removals. Pending or rejected contributions are not visible to ordinary readers. Revoking access blocks future access through the service but cannot retrieve copies already received or downloaded.

Parent or guardian reference profiles can describe a living or deceased person and link them to children. A reference profile does not create an account, grant access, or invite anyone. A deceased person has no login and is not an approving parent. Living co-parent invitations and child account setup are separate actions. A sole parent can set up their own family circle without inventing another approving parent.

Memories may include photos, PDFs, audio, and video. Upload only material you are authorized to provide and share. Playback depends on the file and browser; supported downloads may be offered when playback is unavailable. Photo location metadata is removed, but other files can retain metadata that authorized recipients can obtain. Private memory boards are kept outside the ordinary parenting-record archive, household-wide exports, archive search, and AI processing.

The owner may move a board or any memory to Trash; contributors may move their own memories to Trash. Trashed content disappears from ordinary viewing immediately and remains recoverable for 30 days. Restoring a contributor’s submission can require owner review again. After the recovery period, the service removes expired content and associated media from primary memory storage. Provider backup and disaster-recovery copies can remain until their applicable retention periods expire and are not an additional user recovery option. This memory-board removal policy differs from retained parenting records and shared partner-introduction history.

5. Your content and sharing

You retain your rights in documents, messages, recordings, and other material you provide. You give Calm Mere permission to store, process, display, transmit, and reproduce that material as reasonably necessary to provide the features you use, maintain records, protect the service, and comply with law. This includes using service providers to perform those tasks on our behalf.

Upload or share only material you have the right to provide. Consider privacy, court restrictions, recording-consent requirements, and the rights of children and other people before sharing sensitive information. Do not upload another person’s privileged, confidential, or restricted material without authorization.

Recipients may view, download, print, or retain information made available to them. Changing access later cannot retrieve copies already downloaded or included in emails. Comments, tagged family members, and full discussion threads may be included in notification emails as described in the relevant feature.

Mobile beta and account deletion

The Calm Mere mobile beta offers selected coordination features using your existing account permissions. Optional device notifications require permission and have separate settings from email and SMS. Notifications can be delayed or unavailable; do not rely on them for emergencies or required legal notice. Dating access is limited to approved adults; family roles alone do not establish age eligibility. Calls, live sessions and games are outside the initial native beta.

You can initiate account deletion in Settings or through the account-deletion page. A fresh confirmation code is required. Account closure ends access immediately; eligible private data is queued for primary-storage removal within 30 days. Shared records and unreleased legal holds receive itemized retention review with a reason, responsible reviewer and bounded review date. Closing an account does not silently release holds or erase another participant’s records. These controls do not waive applicable privacy rights or legal obligations.

6. Records and retention

Calm Mere is designed to preserve an audit history. Requests, decisions, signatures, comments, archived documents, and related records may remain after a correction, cancellation, loss of access, or account closure. Some records use append-only storage, and the app does not provide an ordinary delete button for those records.

Do not use the service expecting that you can later erase a shared record. Retention remains subject to applicable legal obligations and rights; these Terms do not waive rights to request access, correction, or deletion where the law provides them. Keep your own copies of important records. We do not promise that every record will be available forever or that service will be uninterrupted.

7. Email, notifications, and service providers

By using the relevant features, you request operational communications such as verification messages, invitations, reminders, comments, and decisions. Family invitations may repeat reminders until accepted, declined, cancelled, or expired. Dating invitations are sent only on an explicit send or resend action; date reminders follow the separate choices described above. Email delivery may be delayed, filtered, or fail; check the app for the current record rather than relying only on an email.

The service may record delivery events and email interaction signals, such as opens or link activity, to operate and troubleshoot notifications. Such signals can be affected by privacy tools and automated scanners and are not reliable proof that a particular person read or understood a message. External services and email providers have their own terms and practices.

Optional Calm Mere text notifications

When text delivery is available, an adult may choose service-notification categories in Settings, provide their own mobile number, give separate SMS consent, and verify ownership using a code. Selected categories may include childcare, schedule changes, new messages or requests and, for parents, medical alerts. Dating and partner-introduction texts are disabled in this release. This permits automated verification and service texts for the choices you make. Agreeing to these Terms, inviting someone, or entering a contact number elsewhere does not subscribe that person to texts. SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of using Calm Mere or purchasing anything.

Message frequency varies with your requests and selected activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel texts, or stop them in Settings for each family where you enabled them. Reply HELP for help, or email notifications@calmmere.com. A carrier opt-out can block texts across families using the same sending number. We do not override a carrier opt-out automatically. If your mobile number changes or is reassigned, stop texts for the old number and verify your new number.

Service texts contain a general notice and an app link; they omit medical details and message contents. Texts are supplemental notifications, may be delayed or unavailable, and do not replace checking the app or email. Queuing a notice or provider acceptance does not prove delivery, reading, or acknowledgement. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on SMS for emergencies. Current availability and instructions are described on the text-notification help page.

8. AI assistance

AI features may process content made available to them, including permitted shared documents and archived material. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. Review it against original sources before relying on it, particularly for parenting arrangements, deadlines, health matters, or legal questions. AI output is not legal or medical advice, a binding decision, or an independently verified account of events.

9. Printable reports and court use

Exports reproduce the records and scope described in the report. A state or court caption is information supplied for presentation; it is not an official state form or a guarantee of acceptance. An unsigned certificate of preparation must not be presented as a signed, notarized, or court-certified document.

You are responsible for checking completeness, accuracy, redactions, service requirements, and the receiving court’s rules. A schedule shows planned assignments, not proof that parenting time occurred. Printing or saving a PDF does not file it with a court or send it to the other party.

10. Acceptable use

Do not use Calm Mere to threaten, harass, stalk, exploit a child, commit fraud, distribute unlawful material, or violate a protective order. Do not bypass permissions, access another person’s account, interfere with security or availability, introduce malicious software, or falsify the origin of records. Do not use the service for emergency response; contact the appropriate emergency services directly.

11. Fees and service changes

If a feature requires payment, its price and payment terms must be presented before you purchase it. Acceptance of these Terms alone does not authorize a paid subscription or undisclosed charge. We may change features, correct errors, or suspend service for maintenance, security, or legal reasons. We will provide notice of material changes where required by law.

12. Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise of uninterrupted access, error-free operation, suitability for a particular case, or a particular outcome. We do not control another family member’s conduct, information, or compliance with an agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, Calm Mere is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses fraud or intentional misconduct, or limits mandatory consumer rights.

13. Suspension, disputes, and changes to these Terms

We may restrict or suspend access for a material violation, security concern, or legal requirement. We will give an explanation and an opportunity to address the issue when reasonably possible and legally permitted. Restricting access does not erase retained records or cancel obligations that already arose.

Please contact us about a service dispute so we can try to resolve it. These Terms do not require private arbitration or waive access to a court where that right is available. Applicable law determines the proper law and forum. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

We may publish updated Terms with a new effective date and version. Material changes will be presented for agreement when required. We will not label an old acceptance as acceptance of a different version. The dated version linked to an acceptance remains available for reference.
